Cedric D. Miller is the principal member of The Miller Firm, P.C. Cedric attended the Howard University School of Law, located in Washington, D.C. While there, Cedric was a stellar student. He was recognized by the school on four occasions by receiving American Jurisprudence awards, traditionally reserved for the student who receives the highest grade in a particular class. Cedric received this award for excelling in Constitutional Law I, Constitutional Law II, Race, Law and Change, and Legal Ethics. Typically, over 100 students in a given class compete for this award. In addition, Cedric was also a merit scholarship recipient while at Howard. He was also co-editor in chief of the Howard Scroll, The Social Justice Law Review.

Upon graduation in 1997, Cedric immediately entered private practice. He joined the national law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller and Ciresi, L.L.P., as an associate, where he primarily litigated employment law cases on behalf of plaintiffs. Years later, Cedric joined the boutique law firm of Carr Maloney P.C., where he honed his skills as a successful defense attorney. While at Carr Maloney, Cedric successfully litigated a host of medical malpractice cases against Washington, D.C.’s leading plaintiff’s lawyers. In this capacity, Cedric defended numerous cases against doctors, nurses, and dentists. In addition, he also defended a host of personal injury actions, including automobile accidents, truck accidents, workplace injuries, slip and falls, wrongful death actions, and other catastrophic injury cases. Cedric’s experience also includes successfully defending numerous employment related matters on behalf of national employers.

Eventually, Cedric decided to take his experience that he acquired as a defense attorney to help well-deserving individuals in need of legal representation. Cedric is one of a few Washington, D.C. attorneys who has actually litigated medical malpractice, personal injury, and employment cases on both sides of the “v.” He is unique in that most attorneys’ experience is limited to representing either plaintiffs or defendants while Cedric has extensive experience representing both types of clients.

Cedric has a firm understanding of the litigation process, especially how insurance adjusters for doctors and nurses, and negligent car and truck drivers, evaluate claims and how they arrive at a monetary value for such claims. In other words, Cedric knows what it takes to successfully litigate a case to trial and also knows how to obtain a just resolution through settlement.
